Compass Box Description
This is our sixth edition of Flaming Heart, a whisky inspired by a rock song.
Every few years, when we have the appropriate combination of aged whiskies, we are able to blend and bottle a new edition of the award-winning Flaming Heart.
While we nuance each edition, the signature style always remains the same. We have once again combined the rich, bold spiciness of malt whisky aged in heavy-toasted French oak barrels with the evocative smoke of heavy-peated Islay malt whisky, yielding a flavor profile like no other in Scotch whisky: big, bold and hauntingly smoky, but with an alluring ethereal sweetness that calls you back to the glass. In this 2018 edition, we have reintroduced a subtle sherry-cask influence that adds an additional layer of complexity and richness. This is a touch we have used for FLAMING HEART only once before, in the 2012 edition.

FLAVOR DESCRIPTORS
A medium smoky-peaty base is enriched by a sweet maltiness and notes of baking spices and dried fruit. Full on the palate and very long.
RECOMMENDATIONS
This is a whisky to enjoy late into the night. Drink it neat or with the addition of water, or try pairing with rich cheeses.

1 Malt Whiskey from Caol Ila Refill Barrel 39% Total Liquid Volume - Sweet, Smoky, Peat.
2 Malt Whisky from Deanston Refill Hogsheads 29% Total Liquid Volume - Sweet, Grassy, Honey.
3 Malt Whisky from Clynelish Re-Charred Hogsheads 11% Total Liquid Volume - Fruity, Vanilla, Waxy.
4 Highland Malt Blend* Custom French Oak Cask, Heavy Toast 8% Total Liquid Volume -Oaky, Cinder Toffee, Burnt Sugar.
5 Highland Malt Blend** Mixture of First Fill Sherry Butts, Custom French Oak Casks and Refill American Oak Barrels 7% Total Liquid Volume -Rich, Fruity, Spice.
6 Malt Whisky from Clynelish Refill Hogsheads 6% Total Liquid Volume - Ethereal, Creamy Vanilla.
*A vatting comprised of 60% malt whisky from the Clynelish distillery, 20% malt whisky from the Dailuaine distillery
and 20% malt whisky from the Teaninich distillery. After vatting, we mature it further in our hybrid French oak casks.
**A proprietary vatting, including single malts sourced from the Glen Ord, Benrinnes and Allt a Bhainne distilleries.
