Biondi-Santi Description
- Vintage Report: A hot and dry year with constant warrn temperatures frorn May through August which permitted the vines to reach perfect ripeness and produce grapes perfect for full-bodied, long-lived red wines.
- Vinification: The grapes were healthy, ripe and rich in color with thick skins. e must was rich in sugar, extracts and acidity.
- Aging: The 2015 Brunello was aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 3 years and it benefited from a long refinement in the bottle.
- Varietal Composition: 100% Sangiovese Grosso (BBS11 Clone), Alcohol: 14.5%
- Optimum Drinking: 30-50 years
- Tasting Notes: The sunny character of the 2015 Brunello speaks of a warrn vintage with sweet, yet fragrant fruit, not at all opulent, sporting prominent notes of fresh cherries, typical of high-altitude Sangiovese. The fruit arises delicately from a bed of aromatic herbs such as thyme and rosemary with hints of liquorice root. On the palate the captivating structure reveals silky tannins backed up by the usual sensation of freshness that is instrumental for the fine balance which lies at the heart of the Biondi-Santi tasting experience. The finish is long and surprisingly savory, adding to the gastronomic personality of this Brunello.
- Serving Suggestions: Serve at 60/64˚ F. Uncork and decant wine from the bottle for 4-6 hours before serving.

The 2015 Brunello is highly complex, with pine resin, clove, blood orange, and rose-hip. It offers a grounding richness and warmth from the vintage while maintaining transparency and lift. Structured and with a long finish, this bottle showed no sign of demise over several days. Cellar 1-5 years and enjoy over the next 20 years. Audrey Frick, March 2021
Wine Spectator: 95 Points
A combination of plum and cherry fruit and juicy texture introduces this lithe, intense red, which tightens up as it builds to the finish, where a mineral element and fine-grained tannins reign. This lingers, leaving a mouthwatering impression. Bruce Sanderson, June 2021
Wine Enthusiast: 94 Points
Aromas of licorice, tobacco and new leather mingle with ripe woodland berry and balsamic whiffs of camphor. The aromas follow over to the full-bodied, rather concentrated palate along with dried cherry and ground clove framed in firm tannins. Kerin O'Keefe, May 2021

The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Annata is an understated beauty that takes some time to blossom in the glass. It’s a sweetly spiced and floral expression of the vintage, blending ripe cherries and strawberries with dusty earth, hints of sage and violets. A refreshing air of mint and lavender develops over time. It’s elegance personified on the palate, seamless and silky-smooth, with a classic and pure expression of red fruits and saline-minerals, as fine tannins slowly mount toward the close. Hints of licorice, white pepper and savory herbs linger through the lightly structured finale. While youthfully firm, the 2015 is already so enjoyable today, yet a few years of cellaring will reveal even further depths. I tasted the 2015 tasted multiple times over the course of a day and it only got better with air. Simply stunning! - Eric Guido
