Boyer-Martenot Description
From the 1er Cru region in Côte de Beaune our wine takes its place in the heart of the «Belle Côte» (beautiful coast/ side) in the 1er Cru’s of Meursault. This area was given its name as it was formally made up of juniper (‘genévrier’ in French) bushes giving us very fragrant berry flavors detected from the first taste of this elegant and silky 1er Cru wine.
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres has a very perfumed bouquet with heady scents of citrus lemon, orange zest, dried mango and white peach. It becomes more and more intense with each swirl. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity. It does not quite build on the promise of the nose like some other Genevrieres ‘13s tasted during my trip, although there is an attractive lemongrass note lingering on the aftertaste.
