Gruet is one of the best producers of American sparkling wine. And their perfectly balanced Blanc de Noirs is one of our favorites. The blend is 75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay. The palate is refreshing with ripe pear, tart cranberry and there’s a little vanilla cream in the finish.
Gruet Description
Founded in 1984, Gruet Winery specializes in Methode Champenoise sparkling wines. Family owned and run, the New Mexico-based winery produces Pinot Noir and Chardonnay-based sparkling wines and a small collection of still wines, with roots originating from Gilbert Gruet’s Champagne house in Bethon, France. More than 25 vintages later, Gruet Winery has achieved unprecedented acclaim and remains a favorite of the nation’s top sommeliers.
The rich and toasty character of our Blanc de Noirs is balanced and superb. Aged for two-year minimum, the palate is developed and shows rich complex flavors. The amazing berries aromas and the creamy texture play a leading role and create a great finesse. Winemaker's Note: A fine salmon color, aggressive mousse and a lovely fruity wine with plenty of immediate charm and toasty aromas. There is also an explosive juicy flavor of raspberry.
"Smooth and rich with ripe but elegant style; dry, balanced and deep; a carefully made wine at a very reasonable price."

Elegant and focused, with creamy vanilla and apple aromas and rich yet crisp flavors of baked pear and cinnamon bread. Drink now through 2014. 20,000 cases made.
Wine Enthusiast
Starts off nicely with scents of yeast that pick up white tropical fruits and freshly picked apples. Peachy flavors again have apple tones, while the acidity is high, just what you need to start off your evening. A bit heavy in the bubbles, though.
