Mazzi - Recioto Di Valpolicella Le Calcarole 2020 (375ml)
Mazzi Description
Mazzi’s Recioto: it takes its name from the cru, which they collect most of the finest grapes from, that are destined to produce this wine, which is so historic and significant for Valpolicella itself. 'Calcarole' name comes from 'Calcareo' (limestone), therefore a hot and stony soil, capable of giving the grapes a certain concentration and non-negligible minerality, which are some characteristics sought after in what is the sweet red Passito of Valpolicella. Their desire is to produce an important sweet wine, not only for the local market, as it was originally, but also for people abroad. For this reason, for almost 30 years, the Mazzi have been choosing to produce it only in the best years, after significant refinement in small oak barrels, and to bottle it, like nothing else in the area, only in the 375 ml format.
