Mumm Description
Brut Prestige is Mumm Napa’s signature sparkling wine. It is a relaxed, yet elegant, wine that earns sparkling accolades from consumers and critics alike.
METHOD: The Brut Prestige grapes are harvested by hand during the crisp morning hours to ensure they arrive at the winery in pristine condition. Fermentation is conducted at cooltemperatures, mainly in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruit intensity. A few selected lots are aged in French oak barrels to add depth, complexity and spiciness to the final blend. After initial fermentation, the art of the blending begins. Our winemakers find the perfect blend of wines to create our signature taste. Then the finished blend is bottled for the second fermentation. An average of 18 months’ yeast aging adds complexity, contributing subtle bread dough flavors and layers of creaminess. The wine is disgorged as a brut style and a dosage is added back to balance the wine’s acidity. Brut Prestige then ages another 3 months on the cork to fully marry the dosage to the base wine.
PROFILE: Brut Prestige features fine bright citrus, red apple, stone fruit and creamy vanilla aromas, with hints of toast, honey and gingerbread spice. Its vibrant flavors are balanced by fine acidity and a rich, lingering finish.
OCCASION: This versatile and balanced sparkling wine is perfect for hors d’oeuvres, light seafood, poultry and vegetarian dishes. It is the perfect bottle to transform everyday moments into lasting memories.

Assembled from dozens of individual lots, this sumptuous brut is an example of the art of blending. Based on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, it's really as delicious and refined a sparkling wine as you could want for drinking now. Shows lush citrus, strawberry, honey, melon, fig and spice flavors that are wrapped into a smooth, silky bubbling mouthfeel.

Should a sparkling wine producer be judged by its most luxurious wine—its tête de cuvée, as the French say—or by its workhorse, non-vintage bottling? Many bubbly winemakers would argue that NV cuvées are the heart of their program. Exhibit A is the Mumm Napa Brut Prestige NV. It’s among the most consistent sparkling buys in California and a persuasive calling card for the winery. Established in the late 1970s as the California outpost of Champagne’s G.H. Mumm, the winery produced its first vintage in 1983. Today, the brand is owned by Pernod Ricard. Winemaker Tami Lotz harvests from nearly 50 growers in Napa County’s coolest regions, mainly Oak Knoll and Carneros. This bottling is equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a 10% blend of Pinot Gris and Pinot Meunier. It was fermented in stainless steel, with small amounts aged in French oak.
