Occhipinti Description
70% Frappato/30% Nero d'Avola. Certified organic estate vines, averaging 20+ years old. Grown in the shadow of the active Mount Etna volcano in southeastern Sicily.
he grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed and co-fermented using wild yeast in concrete tanks. The wine is then aged in concrete tanks for an additional six months and bottled unfiltered. Low dose of sulfur added, just at bottling, for stabilization.
Tasting Notes: Fresh. Tart strawberry, volcanic cherry, brambly berries, woodland herbs. Polished and pretty, with an edge. Enjoy me with a slight chill.
