This Rhone Valley blend of equal parts Grenache and Carignan from Alsatian winemaker Marc Kreydenweiss is everything we love about French country-style reds. Earthy, complex, and sexy as all get-out. The sauvage aromas are there alright, but they're not off-putting. Savory notes as well as wild berry aromas are repeated on the palate. This has an unmistakable French elegance to it. Enjoy with your best roast chicken recipe, or have this with game meats or mushroom-heavy meals.
Marc Kreydenweiss Description
Les Grimaudes is a blend of Carignan and Grenache grapes grown on iron-rich soil composed of Rhone pebbles (gress), silica, limestone, flint, and sandstone. Wine is aged 50% in barrels and 50% in wooden vats. The wine delivers a wealth of dark berry flavors and liquorice. It is fresh and supple on the palate and is ideal for gatherings with friends around a generous charcuterie.
