Rochioli Description
Rochioli is one of the most distinguished vineyards in North America, and it’s revered for producing powerful and vividly distinct berries. The family recognized the potential to grow world class Burgundian varieties on their property early on, and they’re situated in a very diverse part of the Russian River Valley. Their very first release was named The Best in America by the Wine Spectator, and decades later the following for their brand is stronger than ever.
Rochioli Chardonnay is made in a concentrated style with stunning focus and noble balance. It’s big, but in all the right ways, with detailed impressions of candied fruit, rock minerals and honey dipped apple.
Their 2018 Estate Chardonnay combines fruit from their single vineyards, and was thoughtfully constructed to represent the essence and character of the entire estate.
Wine Enthusiast: 96 Points
This wine offers incredible aromatics of crème brûlée and brioche, rich, warming characteristics that lead to more mineral driven elements of oyster shell and stone. From several parts of the producer’s estate, including Little Hill and River Block, this is a juicy, lengthy and beautifully structured wine finishing in a swirl of grilled pineapple.

Readers looking for a classic Russian River Chardonnay that has the textbook richness of the appellation yet stays fresh and vibrant will love the 2018 Chardonnay Russian River Valley. Coming from a mix of the single vineyards and aged 8 months in French oak, its lighter gold color is followed by a great nose of buttered pineapple, tart citrus, white flowers, and a kiss of honeysuckle. It's aromatic, has great purity, is medium-bodied, and finishes with bright acidity.
