Sadi Malot Description
Chardonnay with Coteaux Champenois Pinot Noir. Vinified in oak casks of 600 l. 5 years sur latte. Zero dosage.
This estate was created by Socrate Malot. He named both the domaine and his son after his brother, Sadi, who was given this name after the President of France, Sadi Carnot, was assassinated the date of his brother’s birth in 1894. Today the estate is in the 5th generation, with Franck Malot and his daughter Cindy, along with her partner Fabien Villier, carrying on the work. The family has 8 ha. of Chardonnay in Villers-Marmery, and two hectares of Pinot Noir in Grand Cru Verzy. The vines are in conversion to organic viticulture, and are currently certified Level 3 Haute Valeur Ecologie (HVE). The style sought here is one of purity and minerality, from the unique limestone at this end of the Montagne de Reims. Recoltant-Manipulant.
