This distinct red is crafted from 65-year-old Saperavi grapes in Eastern Georgia's Duruji River basin. Aged in qvevri (large egg-shaped clay pots) for about six months, then another twelve months in oak barrels, this has a rich, dark berry flavor. It's very upfront, yet not too jammy. A good choice with lamb or Eastern European cuisine.
