Sutter Home Description
VINEYARD INFORMATION
Our Sauvignon Blanc is crafted from grapes harvested from premier vineyards
in some of California’s most acclaimed wine growing regions, including the
cool North and Central Coast where grapes grow slowly, developing complex
character and vibrant acidity, as well as vineyards in the Sierra foothills and Delta
region, where grapes acquire concentrated fruit flavors and supple structure.
WINEMAKING
Made in a classic, cool-climate style that evokes New Zealand, our Sauvignon
Blanc is bright and refreshing. To accentuate its fresh citrus, melon aromas and
brisk, slightly grassy flavors, the wine is cold-fermented and aged exclusively in
temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
TASTING NOTES
Sutter Home Sauvignon Blanc is lively and brisk, with zesty citrus and
passion fruit aromas that give way to honeydew melon, grapefruit and lime
flavors accented by spice and mineral notes on the palate, followed by a classic
crisp, clean finish. Our Sauvignon Blanc is exceptionally food-friendly, and
its pleasant grassiness and herbal qualities make it the perfect partner for
foods featuring fresh herbs like tarragon shrimp, thyme-roasted chicken, and
linguine with pesto.
Ultimate Wine Challenge: 91 Points
Green papaya, apple puree, and fresh cut grass are abundant on the nose. On the palate, flavors of young honey, peach skin, and chopped cucumber are refreshing. The finish is surprisingly long and pleasant.
