Terreo Description
Terreo Malbec comes from the IGP (Indication géographique protégée) Comté Tolosan, a vast region in southwestern France stretching from AOC Bordeaux to the Pyrenees. Centered around Toulouse, Comté Tolosan includes the Malbec producing areas of Brulhois, Coteaux du Quercy, Côtes du Lot, and Cahors. Winemaker Hervé Froment sources 20-year-vine Malbec from the Cahors district, ferments in stainless steel, and ages in oak for two months to smooth out any rough edges. This is a superb wine for the money.
Flavor Profile: Medium-bodied, dry. Smooth and quaffable red with a deep color and aromas of ripe bramble berries. The palate is plummy with notes of dark berry and spice. Finishes with fine tannins and vanilla notes. Pair with steak fajitas, strong cheeses, stuffed cabbage, and hearty vegetarian fare.
