Poggio al Granchio is a magical place for its environmental and landscape value; it is a narrow valley on the south-east ridge of Montalcino that descends towards Sant'Antimo. It is the area that reaches the highest altitudes for the vineyards of the Ilcino hill. It is a vineyard kissed by the morning sun and climatically subjected to the strong influence of Mount Amiata (former volcano and sacred mountain for the Etruscans) which stands out right in front of it. This area of Montalcino is characterized by soils very rich in marl, particularly precious for Brunello.

This elegant, juicy red packs a core of pure cherry shaded by accents of wild herbs, licorice and earth. Charming and harmonious, with the fruit echoing on the lingering aftertaste, revealing a mineral element at the very end.
