For the first time, our Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has been aged for up to nine years, then finished separately in Ruby & Tawny Port barrels for up to three years before being bottled at Cask Strength. At 118.8 proof (59.4% ABV), the dessert wine notes are met with a nutty, caramelized fruit profile worth the savor.
The robust oak and toffee from this 2016 bourbon deftly marries with our hallmark Ruby Port characters. The new addition of Tawny Port-finished bourbon provides the nutty, caramelized fruit character that acts as a bridge between the two flavor profiles. By balancing the bright red berry acidity with the brooding sweetness of dried fruit, we’ve worked to introduce a fresh dimension to this year’s Cask Strength program.
