The Graves wine district which is located on the left bank of Bordeaux is known for its gravelly soils and this Bordeaux is all about that stone mineral character. It’s medium to full bodied with plenty of black cherry and good amount of toasty barrel too. Say yes to some Chateaubriand.
Chateau Haura Description
66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot
The Chateau Haura is upfront and bold, full in flavor, with notes of ripe black fruits and plum. Fine tannins and focused, fresh and vibrant. Drink now or hold onto it for a year or two.
Wine Enthusiast: 91 Points
Still very dry and closed up, this hand-picked wine holds promise in its weight. Dark tannins dominate, masking hints of black fruits and rich berries. The wine, produced by Denis Dubourdieu Domaines, needs time, so wait until 2022. Roger Voss
Wine Spectator: 88 Points
Tangy, featuring a mix of pomegranate and bitter plum notes, laced with light bramble and tobacco hints. Reveals a sanguine echo on the finish. Drink now through 2025. — JM
