Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno - Barolo 2019
Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno Description
Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno is an old school estate that is back on the rise in Piedmont. One of the oldest estates in Piedmont and the first estate on the now famed Cannubi hill. The estate has always remained in the family, but current owner and winemaker Emanuela has been steadily taking this historic estate to new highs.
Color: ruby red color in its youth; it assumes garnet red nuances that became orange soft reflexes by aging.
Nose: soft and elegant scents with notes of red berries fruits that evolve into spicy notes with aging.
Taste: round, elegant structure with soft tannins, red fruits with long and warm finish.
Wine Advocate: 94 Points
The Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2019 Barolo shows a luminous ruby appearance and lean fruit weight. The bouquet follows up with crushed rose, dried cherry, licorice root and nectarine. I love the delicate, silky nature of the mouthfeel. This elegant wine has an accessible side, but it delivers a good value versus quality proposition. Some 10,000 bottles were released.
