Varvaglione Description
Deep red with tints of purple. Intense aromas of fruit jam, blackberry, black currants, bramble, beef jerky, violet florals, prune, raisin, baking spices, and vanilla. On the palate, notes of black cherry, black plum, raspberry bacon, smoke, chocolate cooked blackberry, leather, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, mushroom, and earth. This is a dry wine with medium plus acidity, high chalky tannins, culminating in a full-bodied wine. Flavors percolate around, evolving layers show themselves and linger for a long finish.
Food Pairing: braised and red stewed meat, pizza, strong hard cheese.
