Chateau Belle-Vue - Haut Medoc 2010
Chateau Belle-Vue Description
Château Belle-Vue is considered one of the best Crus Bourgeois in the Médoc, as is the case with some Crus Classés. Its deep coarse gravel soils give it a subtle balance in finesse and power.
- Average area: 15.58 hectares
- Average age of the vines: 32 years (the most recent were planted in 2007)
- Global grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (30%), Petit Verdot (20%)
- Duration maturing: 12 to 16 months in oak barrels
THE VINTAGE
Originating from extraordinary climatic conditions, the grapes from our vines had very small, very concentrated berries in 2010. All that remained was to make the most of this exceptional potential with precise and delicate cellar work.
TERROIR
Chateau Belle-Vue is located in the commune of Macau, very close to many Grand Cru Classes of the Médoc on a terroir of deep coarse gravel.
IN THE VINEYARD
- High Environmental Value Certification, recognition of good environmental and agricultural practices.
- Severe pruning with windows for a homogeneous distribution of the bunches, disbudding and split, stripping of the two sides, grooming.
- Full soil cultivation or grassing to make the roots “plunge” deep, and obtain the best expression of this terroir, no herbicide is used.
WINEMAKING
During vinification, the extraction is made as delicately as possible:
- Cold pre-fermentation maceration (0 ° C) for 10 days.
- Exclusive use of load shedding by gravity, the juice is returned by sprinkling on the grounds without destroying it.
- Post-fermentation maceration: 20 days on average at 28 ° C to refine the tannins.

Coated with suave toast and packed with ripe linzer torte, boysenberry and blackberry fruit, this displays great drive and energy, with mouthwatering anise and graphite driving the long finish. A lovely expression of the modern style. Drink now through 2020. 9,000 cases made.
