Chateau Haut Bages Liberal - Pauillac 2014
James Suckling: 95 Points
Aromas of cassis bush and wet earth with oyster shell. Medium to full body, firm and juicy tannins and a delicious finish. A well-rounded wine. Fantastic depth. From biodynamically grown grapes.
Wine Enthusiast: 93 Points
The estate, under the direction of Claire Lurton, continues its slow regular progress. In this vintage, the emphasis is on the fruit, which is forward and full of black-currant flavors. There is a good medium-term potential to this ripely attractive wine.
Wine Spectator: 90 Points
A hint of bay streaks through quickly before the core of red and black currant preserves takes over. Hefty in feel, with extra anise, spice, pepper and singed apple wood notes filling in on the finish.
