Lustau - Solera Familiar Amontillado Los Arcos (375ml)
This is a great introduction wine to the Amontillado Style. The wine has a dry, nutty taste with additional toffee, coffee and orange peel note.
Lustau Description
This wine, partially aged under a veil of yeast like the Finos (the biological process) completes its ageing without the yeast (oxidative process).
Amber in color with a nutty aroma on the nose. Light, soft and round on the palate, with a long aftertaste.
Ultimate Wine Challenge: 94 Points
Amber in the glass, the aromas of honey roasted nuts, copper, and orange zest fill the nose. The dry wine coats the mouth with rich flavors of toasted walnut, caramelized sea salt, dried white cherry, and hazelnut spread. Deliciously dry, tart, and complex.
Wine Advocate: 93 Points
The non-vintage Dry Amontillado Los Arcos Solera Reserva reveals a medium amber hue along with a nutty, honeyed, dry personality with great acid.
Wine Spectator
Walnut, date, cinnamon and dried blood orange notes are backed by a long finish that lets a singed balsa wood hint hang on. This has an echo of sweetness but remains rather dry in feel. Drink now.
